Publication dates of liquor licences in Gazettes are typically on the first Wednesday (Gauteng Province) or the first Friday (all other provinces) of every month. In some cases, publication dates for the Gauteng liquor licences is on the last Wednesday of the month. Kindly confirm exact dates directly with the Government Prining Works. - Notices to appear typically be received two weeks prior to publication by the Government Printing Works.

The Government Gazette is typically published every Friday. Notices to appear typically recieved by the Government Printing Works by 15h00 the preceding Friday.

- New Gazettes are published hourly, Monday to Friday typically between 08h00 and 17h00, where applicable. The Green Alert service offers email notifications thereof.
- The Government Gazette (Afrikaans: Staatskoerant) is the Gazette of record of South Africa. It is the "official organ of Government". The Government Gazette is used by the government as an official way of communicating to the general public.
- The Gazette includes proclamations by the President as well as both general and government notices made by its various departments.
- The Government Gazette publishes regulations and notices in terms of acts, changes of names, company registrations and deregistrations, financial statements, land restitution notices, liquor licence applications and transport permits. Board and legal notices are also published in the Gazette; these cover insolvencies, liquidation and estate notices.
